Andrew Hawkins and his skilled team of technicians at Motofix Garage Ltd, have moved from the ‘Motofix Car Sales’ site at Plymouth Street, Merthyr Tydfil, and moved to their new premises, at the Old Drill Hall, Pontmorlais West, Merthyr Tydfil. CF47 8UT.
This means that the usual vehicle MOT, Service and Repair of customer vehicles is no longer available at the Plymouth Street premises! However, you can continue to obtain the same level of quality service from Andrew and his team at their new, much larger premises, where there are greater MOT facilities, servicing options and quality repairs available, with much improved parking facilities and customer service.
Andrew is quoted as saying, “I made the move to the new premises at the top of town, closer to the Merthyr town centre, where I could install a new larger ‘Class 7’ MOT ramp, providing MOT’s for much larger vehicles, such as motorhomes, LWB and hightop vehicles alongside my current customer base of smaller cars, vans, motorcycles and scooters.”
He continued, “Its been a long hard slog to get to where we are, having the Old Drill Hall building refitted with new roof, rendering, office and customer waiting facilities, but it certainly has been worth it. To provide customers with the opportunity to drop off vehicles and pop the short distance to town, either down the British Tip, Pontmorlais High Street or along to the link road to towards the Town Hall and Fire Station, is so much more convenient for them. We now have much more and better parking, more space for larger vehicles within our secure compound, and newly created customer waiting facilities with MOT viewing.”

The refurbishments to our new premises at the Old Drill Hall, Pontmorlais West, Merthyr Tydfil CF47 8UT are well on the way to being completed. The new MOT ramps for Motorhomes LWB & Hightop vehicles are in place, alongside the car & motorcycle MOT ramp and bay. The scaffolding on the outside front of the building is due to be removed early in the new year, but please don’t let that put you off. The premises are fully functional with ample safe parking within the secure compound, and new office and customer waiting area, with wheelchair access, and customer toilets available. It is an ongoing project, but by the 4th January 2022, we will be open for business as usual. Don’t forget we have moved from Plymouth Street, and no Motofix Garage Ltd., MOT, service or repair facilities are available there from now on.
It’s 1st January 2022, and we are having the day off with our families, before the final push to clean up and ready the new premises for our opening in just two days! New customers have already started to book their vehicles in for repairs and services, and MOT’s are expected to be available in a matter of days. Over the last week, we have spent every day, except New Years Day getting the new premises ready to open in the morning, the 4th January 2022. The scaffolding along the front of the building is due to be removed and new roof constructed on our outbuilding this week, making the place look much more like a garage and less of a building site! The New Premises have been open a total of 9 working days, and we are pleased to report customers have already taken up the opportunity to have their motorhomes, and LWB vehicles MOT’d and serviced. The Ministry of Transport have already authorised the two new MOT bays, which have been fully occupied ever since. The main building is fully operative and the out building is having it’s new roof constructed as we speak. With the weather conditions getting colder over the recent few days, its likely the rendering to the front elevation will be delayed until warmer weather arrives? So whilst the new premises are an ongoing project of improvement and repairs, we ask our customers to allow us a little latitude with the current outward appearance of our premises, until the better weather. We can assure all our customer that the quality and standards of the service we provide is a high as always and we look forward to seeing you make a visit to see us soon.
